For clients who display proper form and breathing and have Pilates experience, Reformer classes are available. Reformer exercises can be done lying down, sitting, kneeling or standing on the carriage.




Core, core, core!
Pilates is a mind body modality, focusing on movement and breathing. At the focus first is on core connection/engagement and how it relates to movement. Pilates is a whole body exercise, executed in precise movements, this keeps your body in proper alignment, which is key to keeping all muscles long and lean. When your body is in proper alignment, no muscles are overstretched or pulled to tight. Everything is working as it should. A tight muscle is a weak muscle and a weak muscle is a tight muscle.
If you have never taken a class or had a formal assessment, 4 private, personal sessions are recommended for proper form and basic exercises.


Active isolated stretching is a Therapist assisted stretching technique developed over 40 years ago. This technique is designed to stretch and strengthen each individual muscle, in a muscle group. Your body had 3 layers of muscle from the surface (superficial ) and the 3 rd layer being the most deep and most difficult to stretch. The patient uses the supporting (strengthen) muscle to bring the opposing (stretched) muscle to
its end ROM. The therapist brings the movement a bit furthering holding briefly as not to lose blood supply to affected muscle. Then the patient returns to neutral position, then to another repetition, moving to a bigger ROM each time. This method lengthens the fascia, elongates the muscle and strengthens each individual muscle in each group. Core training is included in these sessions, Core is essential for long, lean muscles and proper alignment, which prevents tight muscle

Yoga is also used as a complete exercise program and physical therapy routine.Emphasis on correct body alignment. While developing flexibility, strength and balance. Asanas* are held for a considerable length of time. The use of props makes this class appropriate for all levels.
